DataPacket 2023: Year of expansion and innovation

As we close out 2023, it's a good time to reflect on the progress and updates we've made at DataPacket. This year was about expanding our reach, enhancing user experiences, and staying current with technological advancements. Here's a brief overview of the developments this year.

Closer to your users

We’ve broadened our reach with the addition of new data centers in strategic locations across three continents: Bogota, Athens, Brussels, Copenhagen, Boston, Querétaro, and Lisbon. These sites were selected to enhance the speed and reliability of our services, ensuring proximity to our customer base. In line with our commitment to growth and accessibility, we aim to open 6 new data centers annually. Explore our full range of data center locations to see how we’re expanding to serve you better.

Hardware to outperform

Throughout the year, we've made significant updates to our server offerings to ensure peak performance and reliability. In the last year, we integrated top-of-the-line CPUs into our lineup, including:

• 1x AMD Ryzen 9 7900
• 1x AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
• 1x AMD EPYC 9754
• 2x AMD EPYC 9754

Complementing these CPUs, we've upgraded storage options and equipped most servers with NICs featuring dual 10–100GE uplinks to maximize bandwidth. 

In response to increasing demand, we began offering servers with advanced GPUs in 2023, primarily catering to AI and video encoding tasks. We're currently curating an official selection of these servers, with more details to be revealed in Q1 2024. Stay tuned for these exciting updates!

More control to you

We've introduced 5 significant updates and several new features to our client panel to make managing services more straightforward and secure:

• Support Center: A streamlined approach for quicker and more efficient customer support.
• Passkey: Enhanced security features for better protection without complicating your experience.
• Role Team Members: Easier management of team roles and access.
• Reverse DNS Records: Simplified management for your domain names.
• Notifications and Status Section: Real-time updates to keep you informed about your account and systems.

Massive Deployment, Wider Network Coverage

This year, we've deployed over 8,000 dedicated servers to meet our clients' specific needs for performance and reliability. In parallel with this server deployment, we've significantly enhanced our network infrastructure. We added or updated 183 interconnections, which brought an extra 29,500G of capacity to our network. Additionally, we've fortified our global backbone with an extra 6,000G, ensuring robust and efficient connectivity between locations.

Expanding Full Shield

While all our servers are protected by the Volumetric shield, we are committed to keep expanding our Full Shield against L4 protocol-based attacks. This year, we deployed Full Shield to Sydney, Dublin, Johannesburg, Houston, Copenhagen, Bucharest, Bogota, Warsaw, and Lisbon. Right now, we cover 34 locations with 15 more to go.
